"Sky High" is a painting that captures a unique perspective from a moving tram, offering an exploration of the architectural landscape of Hong Kong. The city's tall buildings, which rise dramatically against the skyline, present a striking contrast to the increasingly rare traditional structures that remain interspersed within the urban fabric. This juxtaposition of modern and historical architecture serves to highlight the complexities of urban development and cultural evolution in a rapidly changing metropolis.

In this work, I employ a palette characterized by vibrant, candy-like colors, which enhances the visual impact of the composition. My technique integrates traditional Renaissance methods, specifically glazing and scumbling, to achieve a soft, blurred effect that invites viewers to engage more deeply with the scene. This blending technique not only creates a dream-like quality but also serves to bridge the gap between classical artistic practices and contemporary visual language.

By merging traditional techniques with modern imagery and color schemes, "Sky High" embodies a dialogue between the past and present, reflecting the dynamic nature of urban life in Hong Kong. This approach encourages a reconsideration of the relationship between architectural forms, cultural identity, and the evolving landscape of the city.
