This term we're getting back to some painting practice as we study two artists who take inspiration from the natural world. Australian artists Gus Leuning and Pete Groves have similar painting styles. I love the way they layer patterns and symbols within shapes to create paintings that combine observation and imagination. I can't wait to see how the students respond to these works when painting their own versions.
